Asad Raza will create Project 34, Absorption, a new work presented free to the public from 3–19 May 2019 at The Clothing Store, Carriageworks.
Raza’s project, developed in consultation with biologists and environmental scientists, will comprise an installation with organic elements that will mediate
interactions in the space, setting the scene for collaborations, rituals, and conversations.
In 2019 we will celebrate 50 years of Kaldor Public Art Projects. The anniversary is an occasion to recall and reimagine our history, reconnect with iconic international and local artists, and engage Australian artists as part of our 2019 program. Our anniversary year will be marked by a dynamic program of events, a major artist project, and an ambitious exhibition of our projects in collaboration with the Art Gallery of New South Wales, created by British artist Michael Landy, from 6 September 2019 — 16 February 2020.
For 50 years Kaldor Public Art Projects has created groundbreaking projects with international artists in public spaces, changing the landscape of contemporary
art in Australia with projects that resonate around the world.
John Kaldor AO is a dedicated collector, patron and supporter of contemporary art. He has been collecting and commissioning art since the late 1950s and since 1969 has shared his love of art with the Australian public through his series of art projects.
